In 1986 United Therapies performed the first lithotripsy procedure in Chicago. Back then, lithotripsy was a cutting-edge medical procedure. Today lithotripsy is the standard of care, and United Therapies sets the standard in delivering that care.
Since purchasing the first generation lithotripter back in 1986 (which we still own) and training our first technician (who still works at United), we have added 30 new lithotripters and over 40 expertly trained technicians. With United Therapies you get experience and access.
United technicians treat over 300 stones each year, and our core mission is to ensure kidney stones get removed the first time. Our high volume of annual treatments and pioneering experience has lead United Therapies to have among the lowest re-treatment rates in the country.
